How onboarding works: your first steps with Storywright

Before you join a workshop or book a manuscript review, take a few minutes to understand the sequence. This page explains what happens after you register, what materials you receive, and how the weekly live sessions are scheduled. No surprises, no hidden steps — just a clear path from sign-up to your first writing exercise.

How Onboarding Works

Send a short note describing your project: what you are writing, where you feel stuck, and what you hope to finish. Include a sample of your work if you have one, even a rough paragraph helps us gauge your level.

We reply within two working days with a suggested path: a workshop track, a manuscript feedback slot, or a mix of both. You will also receive a reading list and a worksheet tailored to your genre and experience.

Book your first live Q&A session through the calendar link in our reply. Sessions run weekly and are capped at eight participants so everyone gets time to ask questions about their own pages.

Before the session, complete the diagnostic exercise from your worksheet. It takes about forty minutes and covers scene goals, character motivation, and pacing. Bring your answers to the call.

During the session, we review your exercise together, identify the structural patterns holding your draft back, and agree on a revision plan. You leave with three concrete actions for the week ahead.

After the session, you receive written margin notes on your submitted pages and access to the next module. Most writers continue with monthly feedback rounds until the manuscript reaches a solid second draft.

No fixed packages, no locked timelines. You decide whether to continue after each session, and you can pause anytime. If you are unsure where to start, the services overview explains the difference between workshop tracks and feedback rounds.

Email · Manuscript questions

Write to the editorial desk

Send your draft excerpt, a specific question about structure, or a full manuscript for feedback. The team reads every submission and replies with margin-style notes rather than generic praise. Expect a response within two working days.

Live chat · Quick clarifications

Ask during workshop hours

Between Monday and Friday, 10:00 to 16:00 IST, the chat is staffed by a writing coach who can untangle a plotting problem, suggest a revision order, or point you to the right worksheet. Most queries get an answer within the hour.

Phone · Scheduled calls

Book a fifteen-minute check-in

For longer conversations about your project, schedule a call with the support team. Use this slot to walk through your revision plan, clarify feedback from a manuscript review, or decide which module fits your current draft. Calls are booked in advance.

Before you write in, browse the resource library for worksheets and annotated examples, or see the support page for the full FAQ.
